I really wouldn't care. The sword sucks. Sold my last one for 35k and that's that. I'm sick of running through mineral springs farming for these stupid things anyway.

You, suh, are part of the 90% who give Warrior/Monks a bad name.

1) there is a Q&A forum, most appropriately entitled, "Questions & Answers"

2) You asked quite possibly one of the most rhetorical questions possible

But I will answer you anyway. Mending will now last 20% longer.

I don't see why it is stupid. Could you tell me?
If you're a wa/ele with conjure frost this could be a very good weapon for the fire islands.

^^ Don't believe anything this guy says...

He's also been posting about the IDS on the VN boards, saying he has inside information. Here he is saying the IDS was taken out and would be back in as a quest on xmas day:

http://vnboards.ign.com/guild_wars_g...93926497/p1/?5

It was never taken out in the first place.

The IDS was added with the wintersday patch. I have cleared those imps on numerous occasions in the past and I'm sure there are many, many others who had as well.

I'm glad I just have 3 spare left on me. I made a killing off these things the 2nd night they were known about (they were still dropping every other solo run). Prices will drop pretty low because farmers are going to flood the market trying to get what they can, but over time the prices will go back up because as has been pointed out, this is not the most profitable farming to be done even when the swords are going for 60-70k.

And there is always the possibility (as I have personally believed would happen) that the swords will start dropping in a lot of places but in a non perfect form, just like their fiery companions. In that case the 15 > 50 versions will go for quite a bit within a few months time.

Gaile Gray: I have news on the Icy Dragon Sword. It WILL continue to drop after the Wintersday Festival.

That just plain sucks! If they were gonna do this, why couldn't they just say so in their news and updates?! By making it seem like a Wintersday only event they:

1.) made the rich richer by allowing it to sell for 100k-60k when they first came out.
2.) forced people to buy that would otherwise not care or eventually do on their own time due to the supposed event time limit.
3.) made everyone spend countless hours away from friends and family thinking that they had to hurry up and find one before it would go away!

If they simply announced it at the beginning I could have taken my time to get one and spent more of my holiday with my family. I am kind of pissed at the GW developers right now! Thanks a lot Gaile....I know you frequent this forum so I hope you read this.

No, it's not ANet's fault. It's YOURS.

You gave in to the greedy side of your human nature and you panicked, pure and simple.

If you had listened to what I and many other people were telling you, you would never have done something as silly as "spending countless hours away from your loved ones" over a stupid game-sword.

Don't try to blame Anet for the greed in human behavior.

It didn't make the rich richer any more than it made the poor richer. This whole IDS thing was, if anything, a way to get balance things out. For the past week, the rich have been spending their money like crazy on this sword, and the poor are all up in Mineral springs taking a shot at making money.

ANet doesn't *force* anyone to do anything. Some people went and bought it for outrageous prices because they *assumed* (based on NOTHING, which is what ANet had said on the subject back then) that it was a wintersday event. Can you blame ANet for people who make the wrong assumptions and bet their gold on these wrong assumptions?

Again, ANet doesn't make you do anything - if people can't get their priorities straight, that's their problem.

That's kinda sad, but there's no way you can blame that on anyone but yourself. You wanted an IDS, you assumed they weren't gonna drop after the holidays, so you went and spent the holidays away from your family to get what you wanted. All the choices involved were yours to make.

That's not true either. I know that I was there. Since so many people were asking, Gaile Gray had to brb to go get the answer.

Right, and what was the answer?

People just ASSUMED, pure and simple. Typical mob behavior.

Good thing I sold mine for 80k couple of days ago. I was surprised someone would buy it for that much but I'm happy with that.

Sigh, uninformed people are still buying 60k.

My wealth increased tenfold thanks to the IDS.

Alright I have a headache from reading through all these pages of IDS discussion. What cave are you talking about where they drop? I'm not a farmer, but I will go out of the way if I am going near it to attempt to get one.

I agree with Ellix, I made a lot of money on these things. I went from around 200k to well over 500k reselling them.

LOL! Very detailed, thanks. I actually have a quest nearby, and once I get a friend or two on with me, we may attempt it. Thanks again.

depends on wat class imo... if u can stand up to the Tundra Giants KD's... then yes the lower road is easier... but for me as a R/Me it was much easier going the upper route
